Actions taken:
Accepted the Association of Program Coordinators in Radiology (APCR) as a new membership category of APDR.

Established that former program directors may remain active APDR members as long as they are involved with the education of residents.

Established that the President of the APDR must have served as a program director.

Agreed that future modifications of the curriculum, goals and objectives be the responsibility of the Education Committee, a newly established standing committee chaired by Dr. Jannette Collins. This committee would create definitions of the ACGME resident competencies as they apply to diagnostic radiology and have these guidelines posted on the APDR website. This
committee would develop a Program Directors Manual after soliciting input from the members.

APDR Achievement Award - Spencer Bradley Gay, MD

There is nothing more gratifying in our specialty than to have our career contributions recognized by our peers as having been important ones. Certainly, in this regard, Dr. Spencer Gay has worked tirelessly on behalf of APDR and has made important contributions to the organization-most notably serving on the APDR Program Committee, and both developing its Web site and serving as its webmaster.
