Coordinators Scholarship Program

Purpose of the Program:

A scholarship program has been established to provide financial assistance to APCR members who wish to attend the annual meeting of the Association of Program Coordinators in Radiology (APCR), held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Association of Academic Radiology (AAR) each spring.

The APCR members fund the scholarship program so another colleague has the opportunity to attend the annual AAR Meeting for professional development and to network with other coordinators.

Funding:

For the 2024 AAR/APDR/APCR annual meeting, the Scholarship Committee will offer scholarships to three coordinators (1 in-person, 2 virtual) who meet the scholarship application guidelines for the annual award.

Scholarship Selection Committee:

The APCR Scholarship Selection Committee will review all applications.

Notification and Solicitation for Scholarship Applications:

Applications will be distributed via the APCR website, social media and APCR newsletter. Applicants should complete the application, outlining how attendance at the conference will benefit the coordinator and his/her program, as well as their financial needs. Signature of the Program Director indicates his/her support.

Selection Criteria:

  • Selection will be based on financial need and where funding would have the most impact.
  • Priority will be given to members attending the conference for the first time, those who serve on national committees, or those who will be presenting at the educational sessions.

Testimonial:

"There’s always something new in the world of GME, and APCR/AUR offers the best networking opportunities to learn and share ideas. My institution temporarily cut back on travel funding, and it seemed that I would not be able to attend AUR either in person or virtually. Viewing the PowerPoint presentations following the meeting is helpful, but seeing the presentations, hearing the presenters’ comments and Q&A sessions in real time is so much better. By attending even virtually, I was able to ask questions through Chat in some sessions. Other benefits of the in-person experience include learning about APCR and all that it has to offer, making new friends and catching up with old ones. Over the years I have learned so much from my APCR colleagues and was very grateful to receive the virtual scholarship for the 2023 AUR Meeting. I would encourage anyone who needs funding to attend the meeting to apply for the scholarship."
