Dear Program Directors,

My name is Mary Kate Claiborne and I am a pediatric emergency medicine physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I am writing to express my sincere interest in pursuing a residency in radiology as a non-traditional candidate. I am seeking an R1 position beginning in July 2026.

I believe my prior clinical and point of care ultrasound experiences will be invaluable to succeeding in the field of radiology. I would like to continue a career in academic medicine. I believe my background as an educator working with a diverse range of trainees as well as many consultants will contribute to my ability to collaborate with provider colleagues as a pediatric radiologist and to educate radiology trainees.

I am happy to provide my curriculum vitae, a personal statement, as well as letters of recommendation.

Sincerely,
Mary Kate Claiborne, MD

Dear Program Directors,

My name is Manish Patel, and I am currently a second-year radiology resident (R2) in the Chicagoland area. I am seeking an R3 position starting in July 2025, or alternatively, an R4 position starting in July 2026.

I am currently enrolled in an integrated Interventional Radiology pathway; however, I am looking to transition into a Diagnostic Radiology residency. Unfortunately, my home DR program is unable to accommodate this switch due to departmental funding constraints.

I am in good academic standing and would be happy to provide several letters of recommendation upon request.

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] should you have any available opportunities or require any additional information.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Manish Patel

Dear Program Directors,

I am currently a radiology resident at Ondokuz Mayıs University Hospital in Türkiye. I am an ECFMG-certified IMG and will soon begin my preliminary surgery year at Brookdale University Hospital in New York. I am seeking an R1 or PGY-2 position starting in July 2026, in IR or DR, ideally with ESIR or strong IR exposure.

Originally from Sudan, I completed my medical education at Ege University, one of Türkiye’s top institutions, graduating in the top 2.5% of my class. As part of my medical training, I participated in an Erasmus+ exchange program at Aarhus University in Denmark, where I gained valuable clinical experience in a different healthcare system. Now, I am excited to bring my diverse international background to the U.S. healthcare system.

Throughout my training, I developed a strong interest in DR and IR through extensive clinical exposure, including observing and assisting with various IR procedures. I actively engaged in the field by attending international IR congresses such as ET, CIRSE, and PAIRS, which further fueled my passion for minimally invasive, patient-centered treatments.

My application materials (CV, USMLE scores, transcript, personal statement, and letters of recommendation) are available upon request. I would be honored to be considered and would welcome the opportunity to contribute to your program.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Dear Program Directors,

My name is Christopher Zaki, a fourth-year medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, graduating in May 2025. I recently participated in the 2025 Match cycle but, unfortunately, did not match into Diagnostic Radiology. I have secured a preliminary internal medicine year at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California, beginning July 2025, and I am now seeking an advanced PGY-2 (R1) position in Diagnostic Radiology starting July 2026.

I am deeply committed to a career in diagnostic radiology and have spent the last several years building a strong academic and clinical foundation in the field. I have completed several home and away rotations in both diagnostic and interventional radiology. My passion for imaging, technology, and procedural medicine has led to multiple pending publications, along with national conference presentations at NASCI and RSNA. This work includes research conducted during a dedicated fellowship at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Arash Bedayat.

I have a strong interest in academic radiology, with a focus on AI integration, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging, and cardiovascular imaging. My goal is to contribute meaningfully to a program with strong clinical training, mentorship, and opportunities for scholarly growth.

I would be grateful for the opportunity to be considered for any available R1 or PGY-2 diagnostic radiology positions. My application materials, including CV, USMLE scores, transcript, personal statement, and letters of recommendation, are available upon request.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

My name is Ioannis Rigas. I am a US citizen, and I have a rich and heterogeneous Curriculum Vitae (CV), having done extensively clinical work, clinical research, and basic science research. I graduated, near the top of my class, from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. My Medical School is considered one of the best Medical Schools in Europe.

I hold a Master's Degree in Public Health (full-time MPH in Epidemiology-Quantitative Methods) from the Harvard School of Public Health. I have spent almost six years in total at Harvard. For three of those years, I worked closely as a Research Fellow with a world authority in angiogenesis and vascular biology, Dr. Anthony P Adamis. I was also a Clinical Research Fellow with Ephraim Friedman, organizing and conducting Clinical Trials in the field of Age-related Macular Degeneration. I have passed USMLE Step 1 and 2, both on first attempt and I am permanently ECFMG certified. I had temporary medical licenses in Illinois and in Massachusetts and I am eligible for one from the State of Florida. I have completed a US PGY-1 in General Surgery (Rush University/Cook County Hospital). Finally, I have gone through and finished my entire Internal Medicine residency (full 5-year residency based on the European standards) as a high patient volume Clinician in one of the biggest, busiest, and best University and Community hospitals in Europe (Athens Laikon General). During that time, I was actively exposed to all the various clinical and administrative aspects of the Academic and Community Medical Practice.

On a personal note, I have a strong will, I am determined, meticulous, and passionate about my work. I consider myself a straight shooter and a proactive individual. I am sure that my Curriculum Vitae will attest to that. I find your job opportunity intriguing, intellectually stimulating, challenging, and abundantly rewarding. I am coming with only one purpose: to excel. All I am offering is professional attitude, hard work, collaboration, serious attention to detail, writing proficiency, commitment, determination, and dedication. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to communicate with you and thank you for your time. If further reference is needed, please feel free to contact Dr. Konstantinos Makrilakis at [email protected] and Dr. Anthony Adamis at [email protected].

Dear Program Directors,

My name is Noemi Acevedo, and I am currently completing my Preliminary Year in Internal Medicine at Griffin Hospital, Connecticut. I am writing to express my strong interest in a PGY-2 Radiology position starting in July 2025.

I am in excellent standing within my residency program, and both my Program Director, Dr. Seema D'Souza, and my mentors are enthusiastic about supporting my candidacy. I have also completed all USMLE Step exams: Step 1 (Pass), Step 2 (250), and Step 3 (236).

Throughout my medical journey, I had the opportunity to rotate in Diagnostic Radiology at CHOP and UF Health. Additionally, I furthered my exposure to Interventional Radiology during my preliminary year. My experiences in global health, research, and quality improvement have fueled my passion for making a broader impact in patient care, particularly in underserved communities. My exposure to Neuroradiology and Pediatric Radiology has also sparked a deep interest in these subspecialties. I am eager to explore these fields further during my radiology training.

Thank you for considering my application. I sincerely appreciate your time and look forward to the opportunity to join your radiology team.
